About me

My name is George Nemec and I've been cutting lemons for 25 years.

How does a guy from Moravia find himself among the world’s most elite bartenders?

He set out into the world.

I left my hometown, a Moravian village near Mikulov, early on and headed across the ocean. During the years that followed I had the honour and pleasure to work alongside the biggest personalities in the industry, from Australia to Shanghai.
During that time in Australia, I won the Best Cocktail menu award as well as Australian Bartender of the Year award, and set up Pure Spirit Consulting. My fascination with the world of cocktails and select bar cultures brought me back to the Czech Republic – where I wanted to bring the good name, flavour and proper atmosphere of cocktails, to a land inseparably tied to beer.

In 2010 I was given the historical position as the first international ambassador of the oldest Czech brand, Becherovka.
